In his own court ch ronicle,<br />Badshahnama,<br />Shah Jahan admits that an exceptionally beautiful grand mansion in Agra<br />was taken from Jai SIngh for Mumtaz's burial . The ex-Maharaja of Jaipur<br />still<br />retains in his secret collection two orders from Shah Jahan for<br />surrendering the Taj building. Using captured temples and mansions, as a<br />burial place for<br />dead courtiers and royalty was a common practice among Muslim rulers.<br /><br />For example, Humayun,Akbar, Etmud-ud-Daula and Safdarjung are all buried<br />in such mansions. For example, Prof. Marvin Miller of New York took a<br />few<br />samples from the riverside doorway of the Taj. Carbon dating tests revealed<br />that the door was 300 years older than Shah Jahan. European traveler Johan<br />Albert Mandelslo, who visited Agra in 1638 (only seven years after Mumtaz's<br />death), describes the life of the cit y in his memoirs. But he makes no<br />reference to the Taj Mahal being built. The writings of Peter Mundy, an<br />English visitor to Agra within a year of Mumtaz's death, also suggest the<br />Taj was a noteworthy building well before Shah Jahan's time.<br /><br />Prof. Oak points out a number of design and architectural inconsistencies<br />that support the belief of the Taj Mahal being a typical Hindu temple<br />rather<br />than a mausoleum. Many rooms in the Taj ! Mahal have remained sealed<br />since Shah Jahan's time and are still inaccessible to the public</i></b></span><span style="font-family:Times New Roman;font-size:100%;"><b><i> </i></b></span><span style="font-family:Times New Roman;font-size:180%;color:red;"><b><i>. Vai followed those lessons by attending and graduating the <a title="Berklee College of Music" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Berklee_College_of_Music">Berklee College of Music</a>, afterwards recording a promotional piece for them, speaking about auditioning for Frank Zappa, at age twenty.<br /><a class="image" title="Steve Vai (right), Frank Zappa and band during a concert at the Memorial Auditorium, Oct 25, 1980 Buffalo, NY" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Frank_Zappa.jpg"></a><br /><a class="internal" title="Enlarge" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Frank_Zappa.jpg"></a>Steve Vai (right), <a title="Frank Zappa" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frank_Zappa">Frank Zappa</a> and band during a concert at the Memorial Auditorium, Oct 25, 1980 Buffalo, NY<br />Vai mailed <a title="Frank Zappa" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frank_Zappa">Frank Zappa</a> a transcription of Zappa's "<a title="The Black Page" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Black_Page">The Black Page</a>", an instrumental song written for drums, along with a tape with some of Vai's guitar playing. Zappa was so impressed with the abilities of the young musician that he hired him in 1979 to do work transcribing several of his guitar solos, including many of those appearing on the <a title="Joe's Garage" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joe%27s_Garage">Joe's Garage</a> album and the <a class="mw-redirect" title="Shut Up 'n' Play Yer Guitar" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shut_Up_%27n%27_Play_Yer_Guitar">Shut Up 'n' Play Yer Guitar</a> series. These transcriptions were published in 1982 in <a title="The Frank Zappa Guitar Book" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Frank_Zappa_Guitar_Book">The Frank Zappa Guitar Book</a>.<br />Subsequent to being hired as a transcriber, Vai did overdubs on many of the guitar parts for Zappa's album <a title="You Are What You Is" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/You_Are_What_You_Is">You Are What You Is</a>. Thereafter he became a full-fledged band member, going on his first tour with Zappa in the Autumn of 1980. One of those early shows with Vai on guitar, recorded in <a title="Buffalo (album)" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buffalo_(album)">Buffalo</a> was released in 2007. While touring with Zappa's band, Vai would sometimes ask audience members to bring musical scores and see if he could <a title="Sight reading" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sight_reading">sight-read</a> them on the spot. Zappa referred to Vai as his "little Italian virtuoso" and was listed in liner notes as performing "stunt guitar" or "impossible guitar parts". He would later be a featured artist on the <a title="1993 in music" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1993_in_music">1993</a> recording, Zappa's Universe. In <a title="2006 in music" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2006_in_music">2006</a> he returned to playing music composed by Frank Zappa as a special guest on his son, <a title="Dweezil Zappa" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dweezil_Zappa">Dweezil Zappa</a>'s '<a title="Zappa Plays Zappa" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zappa_Plays_Zappa">Zappa Plays Zappa</a>' tour, alongside old friends from his early years who he had performed with when Zappa was alive.<br />After leaving Zappa in <a title="1982 in music" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1982_in_music">1982</a> he moved to <a title="California" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/California">California</a> where he recorded his first album <a title="Flex-Able" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flex-Able">Flex-Able</a> and performed in a couple of bands. In <a title="1985 in music" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1985_in_music">1985</a> he replaced <a title="Yngwie Malmsteen" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yngwie_Malmsteen">Yngwie Malmsteen</a> as lead guitarist in <a title="Graham Bonnet" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Graham_Bonnet">Graham Bonnet</a>'s <a title="Alcatrazz" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alcatrazz">Alcatrazz</a> with whom he recorded the album <a title="Disturbing the Peace" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disturbing_the_Peace">Disturbing the Peace</a>. Later in 1985 he joined former <a title="Van Halen" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Van_Halen">Van Halen</a> front man <a title="David Lee Roth" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Lee_Roth">David Lee Roth</a>'s group to record the albums <a title="Eat 'Em and Smile" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eat_%27Em_and_Smile">Eat 'Em and Smile</a> and <a title="Skyscraper (album)" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skyscraper_(album)">Skyscraper</a>. This significantly increased Vai's visibility to general rock audiences, since Roth was in a highly public battle with the Van Halen members and Vai was favorably compared by many commentators to <a title="Eddie Van Halen" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eddie_Van_Halen">Eddie Van Halen</a>.<br />In <a title="1986 in music" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1986_in_music">1986</a> Vai also surprised everyone by playing with ex-<a title="Sex Pistols" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sex_Pistols">Sex Pistols</a> <a title="John Lydon" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Lydon">John Lydon</a>'s <a class="mw-redirect" title="Public Image Ltd" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Public_Image_Ltd">Public Image Ltd</a> on their album <a title="Album (Public Image Limited album)" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Album_(Public_Image_Limited_album)">Album</a> (also known as Compact Disc or Cassette). Then, in <a title="1989 in music" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1989_in_music">1989</a>, Vai joined <a title="Whitesnake" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whitesnake">Whitesnake</a>, replacing <a title="Vivian Campbell" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vivian_Campbell">Vivian Campbell</a>. But, when <a title="Adrian Vandenberg" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adrian_Vandenberg">Adrian Vandenberg</a> injured his wrist shortly before recording was due to begin for the album <a title="Slip of the Tongue" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slip_of_the_Tongue">Slip of the Tongue</a>, Vai played all the guitar parts on the album. Vai also played on the <a title="Alice Cooper" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alice_Cooper">Alice Cooper</a> album <a title="Hey Stoopid" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hey_Stoopid">Hey Stoopid</a> along with Joe Satriani on the song Feed my Frankenstein.<br /><a id="1990s_and_2000s" name="1990s_and_2000s"></a><br />[<a title="Edit section: 1990s and 2000s" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Steve_Vai&action=edit&section=3">edit</a>] 1990s and 2000s<br />Vai continues to tour regularly, both with his own group and with his one-time teacher and fellow guitar instrumentalist friend <a title="Joe Satriani" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joe_Satriani">Joe Satriani</a> on the <a title="G3 (tour)" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/G3_(tour)">G3</a> series of tours. In 1990, Vai released his critically acclaimed <a title="Solo album" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solo_album">solo album</a> <a title="Passion and Warfare" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Passion_and_Warfare">Passion and Warfare</a>.<br />The song <a title="For the Love of God (instrumental)" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/For_the_Love_of_God_(instrumental)">"For the Love of God"</a> was voted #29 in a readers' poll of the 100 greatest <a title="Guitar solo" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guitar_solo">guitar solos</a> of all time in <a title="Guitar World" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guitar_World">Guitar World</a> Magazine.<br />In <a title="1994 in music" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1994_in_music">1994</a> Vai began writing and recording with <a title="Ozzy Osbourne" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ozzy_Osbourne">Ozzy Osbourne</a>. Only one track from these sessions and "<a title="My Little Man" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/My_Little_Man">My Little Man</a>" was released on the <a title="Ozzmosis" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ozzmosis">Ozzmosis</a> album. Despite Vai penning the track he does not appear on the album. His guitar parts were replaced by <a title="Zakk Wylde" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zakk_Wylde">Zakk Wylde</a>. Vai's band members throughout the 1990s included drummer <a title="Mike Mangini" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mike_Mangini">Mike Mangini</a>, guitarist <a title="Mike Keneally" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mike_Keneally">Mike Keneally</a> and bassist <a title="Philip Bynoe" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philip_Bynoe">Philip Bynoe</a>. In 1994 Vai received a <a title="Grammy Award" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grammy_Award">Grammy Award</a> for his performance on the Frank Zappa song <a title="Sofa" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sofa">Sofa</a> from the album Zappa's Universe.<br /><a class="image" title="Vai playing a twin-necked Ibanez" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Ibanez_dbl_neck_jem.jpg"></a><br /><a class="internal" title="Enlarge" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Ibanez_dbl_neck_jem.jpg"></a>Vai playing a twin-necked Ibanez<br />In July <a title="2002 in music" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2002_in_music">2002</a>, Steve Vai performed with the <a title="Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tokyo_Metropolitan_Symphony_Orchestra">Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra</a> at the <a title="Suntory Hall" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suntory_Hall">Suntory Hall</a> in <a class="mw-redirect" title="Tokyo, Japan" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tokyo,_Japan">Tokyo, Japan</a>, in the world premiere of composer Ichiro Nodaira's Fire Strings, a <a title="Concerto" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Concerto">concerto</a> for <a title="Electric guitar" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electric_guitar">electric guitar</a> and 100-piece orchestra.<br />In <a title="2004 in music" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2004_in_music">2004</a>, a number of his compositions and orchestral arrangements including some previously recorded pieces, were performed in <a class="mw-redirect" title="The Netherlands" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Netherlands">The Netherlands</a> by the Metropole Orchestra in a concert series entitled The Aching Hunger. In <a title="2003 in music" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2003_in_music">2003</a>, drummer Jeremy Colson joined Vai's group replacing previous drummer <a title="Virgil Donati" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virgil_Donati">Virgil Donati</a>. Vai's latest album, Sound Theories, was released in <a title="2007 in music" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2007_in_music">2007</a>.<br />Steve Vai released a DVD of his performance at <a title="London Astoria" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/London_Astoria">The Astoria</a> in <a title="London" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/London">London</a> in December <a title="2001 in music" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2001_in_music">2001</a>, featuring the lineup of bassist <a title="Billy Sheehan" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Billy_Sheehan">Billy Sheehan</a>, guitarist/pianist <a title="Tony MacAlpine" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tony_MacAlpine">Tony MacAlpine</a>, guitarist <a title="Dave Weiner" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dave_Weiner">Dave Weiner</a> and drummer Virgil Donati.<br />In February 2005, Vai premiered a dual-guitar (electric and classical) piece that he wrote called The Blossom Suite with classical guitarist <a title="Sharon Isbin" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sharon_Isbin">Sharon Isbin</a> at the <a title="Théâtre du Châtelet" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Th%C3%A9%C3%A2tre_du_Ch%C3%A2telet">Châtelet Theatre</a> in <a title="Paris" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paris">Paris</a>. In 2006, Vai played as a "special guest" guitarist alongside additional guest Zappa band members, drummer <a title="Terry Bozzio" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terry_Bozzio">Terry Bozzio</a>, guitarist-singer <a title="Ray White" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ray_White">Ray White</a> and saxophonist-singer <a title="Napoleon Murphy Brock" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Napoleon_Murphy_Brock">Napoleon Murphy Brock</a> in the "Zappa Plays Zappa" tour led by Frank's son <a title="Dweezil Zappa" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dweezil_Zappa">Dweezil Zappa</a> in Europe and the U.S. in the Spring as well as a short U.S. tour in October.<br />On <a title="September 21" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/September_21">September 21</a> 2006, Vai made a special appearance at the <a title="Video Games Live" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Video_Games_Live">Video Games Live</a> concert at the <a title="Hollywood Bowl" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hollywood_Bowl">Hollywood Bowl</a> in <a class="mw-redirect" title="Hollywood, California" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hollywood,_California">Hollywood, California</a>. He played two songs with the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra; Halo Theme, and a second song for the world premier trailer for <a title="Halo 3" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halo_3">Halo 3</a>.<br />Steve Vai made an appearance at the London Guitar Show 2007 on the <a class="mw-redirect" title="28th April" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/28th_April">28th April</a> <a title="2007 in music" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2007_in_music">2007</a> at the ExCeL Center. In late April 2007, Vai confirmed the release of his most recent record, called <a title="Sound Theories" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sound_Theories">Sound Theories</a>, on <a title="June 26" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/June_26">June 26</a>. The release is a 2-CD set consisting mostly of previously released material that Vai rearranged and played in front of a full <a title="Orchestra" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orchestra">orchestra</a>. Vai says that the project was a great joy because he considers himself to be a <a title="Composer" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Composer">composer</a> more than a guitarist, and he is happy to see music he has composed played by an orchestra that can play it well. A DVD followed the record but was not released until later that year. He guested on the most recent <a title="Dream Theater" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dream_Theater">Dream Theater</a> album, <a title="Systematic Chaos" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Systematic_Chaos">Systematic Chaos</a>, on the song "<a title="Repentance (song)" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Repentance_(song)">Repentance</a>". The appearance was vocal rather than instrumental, as Vai was only one of many musical guests recorded. The song features contributions from many artists, with the aim of apologizing to important people in their lives for wrongdoings committed in their pasts.<br />Vai is set to release a DVD of his show dated <a title="September 19" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/September_19">19 September</a> <a title="2007" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2007">2007</a> at the Minneapolis State Theater from his 2007 Tour.</p>Ram JAIGURU DEVhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03908465238732974479noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2156822223373527597.post-49727412156408496072009-02-22T11:40:00.000-08:002009-02-22T12:12:07.332-08:00DELHI 6<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_mdJHYqSGvCg/SaGvWL2DfZI/AAAAAAAAABk/IQIP4SIR_b8/s1600-h/d6.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5305714631690648978" style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; WIDTH: 304px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 400px" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_mdJHYqSGvCg/SaGvWL2DfZI/AAAAAAAAABk/IQIP4SIR_b8/s400/d6.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><div>This movie is a serious pain in the A$$ ..... </div><br /><div>Songs are good</div><br /><div>In the entire movie the only scence i liked was the" LOVE MAKING " too funny ...</div><br /><div>anyways out of 10 i would give </div><div> (10 / -10000000000000000000000)</div><br /><div><span style="font-family:georgia;font-size:180%;">IT SUCKS !!!!!!!</span></div>Ram JAIGURU DEVhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03908465238732974479noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2156822223373527597.post-76542810604757462972009-02-19T11:22:00.000-08:002009-02-25T08:05:40.666-08:00conversation with RISHI JIIt was a mind blowing night with rishi ji . What is enlightenment?</p><p>A: Enlightenment is doing trivial things. Enlightenment is letting go, like a child. Choti choti baate karne se badi cheeze hasil hoti hai means when you do the small things you get big results. For e.g. your parents/school teachers taught you to read/write and learn the tables etc., and so you have the educational qualification that you have today.</p><p>Q. Too many thoughts and cravings come to my mind. How do I handle this?</p><p>A: Two prominent things that influence the mind are food that you eat and the company you keep. Sadhana, satsang and seva lead to perfecion at 3 levels:a. Sadhana purifies the thoughts and feelingsb. Satsang purifies and cultures your speechc. Seva brings perfection in actionQ. Discusions, planning? Why do you plan so much? Everything is already planned. You just have to do it! And whatever you plan in the night, will most likely not work out. Night time is not auspicious for making plans/sankalpas. Always do planning in the morning. We will never be ditched, deceived or deprived," said Sri Sri Ravi Shankar at a Satsang in Kolkata on Saturday<br />when the city was in the grip of the Valentine's Day fever. The Art of Living founder said the world is so distraught because of the absence of love.<br /><br />"Even if there is love, the problem exists. Because, there is wrong expression of it. Love without wisdom (gyan) can also bring trouble. If love comes with wisdom, there will be joy, satisfaction and benediction," he said addressing a crowd at the Rabindra Sarovar stadium.<br /><br />On the attacks on people celebrating Valentine's Day, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar said: "The extreme reaction comes out of fear. Our culture, heritage is not so fragile that one celebration would destroy it. There should be due respect to decency and decorum. But if you apply force against the violators, they will only increase. Force is no solution. Let it happen, if something is bad, people will reject it automatically."<br /><br />The Art of Living Guru prescribed five steps to get out of sufferings. First, you have to understand the time you are in. Secondly, do some Yoga and Sadhana. Yoga will stop bad things from happening in your life. Thirdly, think that you have overcome many a problem in your life and will eventually also overcome the problem causing you suffering. Next, you must understand that there are people whose suffering is much worse than yours. Put yourself in the seva' of that person. Finally, have complete faith in nature's law no suffering is perpetual. Suffering will come and go.<br /><br />"There are two modes you can be in participating and witnessing. We apply both wrongly and end up being unhappy. You must participate in joy and witness suffering. Whenever there is happiness, participate no matter whose happiness it is. When there is suffering, observe it. But what we generally do is that we only participate in suffering, whoever's it is. But when there is real cause of happiness, we become its mere witness," .<br />JAI GURU DEVRam JAIGURU DEVhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03908465238732974479noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2156822223373527597.post-42594042524463979192009-02-13T22:34:00.000-08:002009-02-14T00:50:17.225-08:00Kapil's latest song for the march against corruption and terrorismENjoy MAdi-------this song was composed after lot of difficulty .. and is dedicated to THE M A R C H .. I have come to delhi to organize the MARCH against corruption and terrorism .. But we have been doing mini march ourselfs shiting from one house to another :) almost every alternate day ... but its fun cause im with the best team in delhi , im wit saleel da , upi dee , kapil , rupal x , rohit , nikhil .....<br />Right now we all r staying at nikhil's house , His family is so sweet ... i love them a lot nikhil's mom is the sweetest of all ...anyways today i was in one of the most famous colleges in delhi called the IP unversity with few volunteers and a baloon (pri.....) . So i spoke to almost 70 students frm the college , telling them how imp it is for them to participate in this peace march , but non of them showed any interest .. everyone looked so dull and life less ... Here im standing in front talking to them very enthusiasticly , but non of them showed any reaction .. it was SHOcking that no one here wants to do something for their country .. i guess people here are DIFFERent ....Ram JAIGURU DEVhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03908465238732974479noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2156822223373527597.post-31017664549671162772008-09-16T09:36:00.000-07:002008-09-16T10:41:04.546-07:00Its about me<ol><li>hi i am ram from bangalore , presently a full time volunteer/YES!+ teacher for art of living orginisation .
